Fake Medicine Scam: Himachal High Court asked the government- 'What action has been taken so far?'

Himachal Pradesh High Court has taken strict note of the failure of the samples of medicines. Taking cognizance of the production of substandard medicines, the Himachal Pradesh High Court has issued a notice to the Chief Secretary and the Principal Secretary, Health, calling for their reply.

Apart from this, the Health Director, State Drug Controller and Deputy Drug Controller have also been made respondents in the case.

A division bench of Himachal Pradesh High Court's Acting Chief Justice Tarlok Singh Chauhan and Justice Virendra Singh has asked the government why the samples of medicines are failing again and again? Along with this, the government has also been asked what steps the government is taking to improve it.

The next hearing in the case has been fixed on June 23. In the past few times, reports of failure of drug samples are continuously coming out from the pharma hub Himachal Pradesh. The National Drug Regulatory and Central Drug Standard Control Organization has declared the samples of 11 medicines manufactured in 12 companies of Himachal as substandard. Not only this, one of these samples was also found to be fake. The drug found to be counterfeit is related to veterinary medicine.

These drugs include Estrazole Injection, Estrizo Tablets, Misoprostol Tablets, Amoxicillin Capsules, Rog Paracetamol Oral Suspension, Restlessness, Finaviv Tablets, Pantoprazole and Ejaculation Domperidone Capsules, Rantidinehydrochloride Tablets and Levocetirizine and Ibuprofen Tablets.
