Allahabad HC Prepares for Executive Election on April 3; Advocates to Vote for New Leadership

The Allahabad High Court Bar Association will hold elections for its new executive on April 3. High Court advocates will choose the new team by voting. With the consent of the Elder Committee, the detailed program of the elections was decided. It was announced on Monday.

The sale of nomination papers will commence on March 5, with the security amount being deposited upon purchase. Nomination forms will be available for collection at the counter between March 5 and March 10.

Candidates will then have the opportunity to submit their nomination papers from March 11 to March 14. Nomination paper withdrawals will be allowed on March 15. Following this, scrutiny of nomination papers is scheduled for March 16th and 17th.

Objections can be filed until March 18. Subsequently, the final list of candidates will be declared on March 21, allowing declared candidates to contest the elections. The voting process is scheduled for April 3, taking place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

High Court Bar Joint Secretary Press Amarendu Singh has announced the formation of a six-member election committee to conduct the elections. Senior advocates have been included in this committee, and their names will be announced shortly. The elections will be conducted under the supervision of this committee.

Following the announcement of the High Court Bar election schedule, there has been an increase in activity among lawyers. Those intending to contest the elections have begun making contacts, while senior lawyers have remained busy strategizing late into the night.
