The Bar Council of India (BCI) has announced that the 24th qualifying examination for Indian nationals holding foreign law degrees will be conducted from July 15 to July 21, 2026.
The examination will comprise six papers carrying 100 marks each and will be held on consecutive days from 11 AM to 2 PM. No examination will be conducted on Sunday, July 19.
Candidates appearing for the first three papers — Constitution of India, Contract Law and Negotiable Instruments Act, and Company Law — will not be permitted to carry books, bare acts, or any study material into the examination hall.
For the remaining three papers, candidates may bring individual bare acts, provided they are free from annotations, notes, highlights, or any markings. Books, guides, and question-and-answer compilations will remain prohibited for all papers.
The last date to submit the application form, along with a signed and scanned copy and self-attested supporting documents, is June 25, 2026. Applications must be emailed to acadcommitteebci@gmail.com, while the original documents must also be sent by post to the BCI.
Fee payment links will be shared with candidates after scrutiny of their applications, and the last date to pay the examination fee is July 5, 2026.
