In a relief to Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, the Nagpur bench of the Bombay High Court on Friday dismissed a petition challenging his victory in the 2024 Maharashtra Assembly elections from the Nagpur South-West constituency.
The petition had been filed by Congress candidate Prafulla Vinodrao Gudadhe, who had alleged procedural irregularities and corrupt practices during the election. However, a bench of Justice Pravin Patil found no merit in the allegations and rejected the plea.
Fadnavis had defeated Gudadhe by a margin of 39,710 votes in the 2024 polls, securing a decisive victory from the key constituency.
