Bombay High Court Grants Bail to Nine Accused in Nagpur Riots Case

The Nagpur Bench of the Bombay High Court on Wednesday granted bail to nine individuals arrested in connection with the communal violence that broke out in Nagpur earlier this year over demands to remove Mughal emperor Aurangzeb’s tomb in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar district.

Justice Urmila Joshi-Phalke observed that further custody of the accused was not necessary, paving the way for their release on bail.

A detailed copy of the Court’s order is awaited.
