The Central Government on December 22 notified the appointment of three Senior Advocates as Additional Solicitors General (ASGs) to represent the Union of India before the Supreme Court.
According to a notification issued by the Union Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, the following Senior Advocates have been appointed as ASGs:
Devinder Pal Singh
Kanakamedala Ravindra Kumar
Anil Kaushik
The appointments will be for a tenure of three years or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
Senior Advocate Kanakamedala Ravindra Kumar has earlier served as a Member of the Rajya Sabha from 2018 to 2024, representing the Telugu Desam Party. His appointment brings both parliamentary and legal experience to the government’s top law officer team.
Senior Advocate Devinder Pal Singh has previously held the position of Additional Advocate General for the governments of Punjab and Haryana, and has extensive experience in constitutional and administrative matters.
With these appointments, the Central Government has strengthened its legal representation before the Supreme Court in important constitutional and statutory matters.
