The Central government on Thursday officially notified the transfer of two judges from the Telangana High Court — Justice P. Sree Sudha and Justice K. Surender — to the Karnataka and Madras High Courts, respectively.
The transfers are in accordance with the recommendations made by the Supreme Court Collegium in April.
Justice P. Sree Sudha, who has been appointed to the Karnataka High Court, earned her law degree from A.C. College of Law, Guntur. After enrolling with the Bar Council of Andhra Pradesh, she practiced law in Tenali, Srikalahasti, and Kavali.
She was selected as a direct recruit to the district judiciary in August 2002 and served for 19 years before being elevated to the Telangana High Court in October 2021.
Justice K. Surender, now transferred to the Madras High Court, holds a degree in Geology and subsequently pursued a career in law, beginning his practice in 1992. He has previously served as Assistant Additional Standing Counsel for the Central government in the Andhra Pradesh High Court. Notably, he was appointed Senior Counsel for the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to handle the high-profile Satyam scam prosecution. He was elevated to the Telangana High Court in November 2022.
