Court Grants Interim Protection to Khan Sir, Stays Coercive Action in Patna Firing Case

In a significant development in the Patna coaching institute firing controversy, a local court on Tuesday granted interim protection to Faisal Khan, popularly known as Khan Sir, while hearing his anticipatory bail application. The District and Sessions Judge ordered a stay on any coercive action against him until the next date of hearing.

During the proceedings, counsel appearing for Faisal Khan argued that he had no direct criminal involvement in the alleged incident and had been falsely implicated in the case. The defense maintained that Khan Sir was neither present at the scene of the firing nor involved in any criminal conspiracy connected to the incident.

On the other hand, the police presented details of the ongoing investigation and the FIR registered in connection with the case. After hearing submissions from both sides, the court granted interim relief to Faisal Khan and directed that no punitive action be taken against him until further orders.

As a result of the court's order, Khan Sir will not be arrested at this stage, and the protection will remain in force until the matter is taken up again for hearing.

Background of the Case

The controversy arose following a shooting incident allegedly linked to a dispute involving a coaching institute in Patna. The matter gained widespread attention after videos related to the incident went viral on social media. Subsequently, an FIR was registered at Kadamkuan Police Station.

According to police authorities, two individuals associated with the coaching institute have been named in connection with the firing incident and are presently in judicial custody. The investigation is continuing to determine the extent of involvement of all persons named in the FIR.

Police Search Operations

Before obtaining relief from the court, police teams were reportedly conducting raids at multiple locations in and around Patna in an effort to trace Faisal Khan. Patna Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kartik Sharma stated that search operations had been carried out in several districts as part of the investigation.

Police sources have indicated that multiple cases have been registered in relation to the controversy, and the investigation remains active. The prosecution is expected to place additional materials before the court during the next hearing.

Next Hearing

The court is expected to consider the police investigation report, case diary, and other relevant materials during the next hearing. The question of granting regular anticipatory bail to Faisal Khan will likely be examined in greater detail at that stage.

The case continues to attract considerable public attention due to Khan Sir's popularity as an educator and social media personality. The interim protection granted by the court does not amount to a final determination on the merits of the allegations, which remain subject to investigation and judicial scrutiny.
