Delhi HC Issues Notice in ₹2.1 Crore Defamation Suit by TFI Media Against YouTuber Ajeet Bharti

The Delhi High Court has taken cognizance of a defamation suit filed by TFI Media Pvt Ltd against YouTuber Ajeet Bharti and another individual, seeking ₹2.1 crore in damages over allegedly defamatory posts on X (formerly Twitter).

Justice Purushaindra Kumar Kaurav, who heard the matter on Tuesday, issued notices to the respondents and directed them to file their written responses within 30 days. The case is scheduled for its next hearing on July 7.

TFI Media’s complaint focuses on two posts shared from Bharti’s verified account (@ajeetbharti) on March 22 and 23. The media company contends that the content of the posts was "malicious," "cryptic," and "baseless," claiming they were intended to mislead and harm the organisation’s reputation.

Appearing for TFI Media, Advocate Jai Anant Dehadrai sought an ex-parte interim injunction, urging the court to direct the immediate removal of the disputed content by both Bharti and the platform. The company has also requested a permanent injunction to prevent further circulation of the allegedly defamatory material, in addition to monetary compensation excluding legal costs.

Further, TFI Media has asked the court to order X to permanently take down the posts in question.
