Honeymoon Murder Case | Meghalaya Court Sends Businessman’s Wife and Her Alleged Partner to 13-Day Judicial Custody

A local court in Shillong on Saturday remanded Sonam Raghuvanshi and her alleged boyfriend, Raj, to 13 days of judicial custody in connection with the murder of Indore-based businessman Raja Raghuvanshi.

The two, who are the prime accused in the case, were earlier in police custody, which ended on Saturday. The Special Investigation Team (SIT) handling the case chose not to seek an extension of their police remand.

“The accused were remanded to 13-day judicial custody. The police did not seek extension of the custody,” confirmed Assistant Public Prosecutor Tushar Chanda, speaking to PTI.

Raja Raghuvanshi and his wife Sonam had gone missing on May 23 while honeymooning in Meghalaya’s picturesque Sohra region. Ten days later, on June 2, Raja’s highly decomposed body was recovered from a gorge, triggering a murder investigation that has since gripped public attention.
