The Himachal Pradesh National Law University (HPNLU), Shimla, has appointed former Chief Justice of India, Sanjiv Khanna, as a Distinguished Professor.
Justice Khanna, who served as the 51st Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of India, demitted office on May 13, 2025.
HPNLU Registrar Prof (Dr) SS Jaswal stated that there is no fixed tenure for the position, and the nature of Justice Khanna’s engagement will be determined in consultation with him.
This announcement comes shortly after the National Law University, Delhi named former CJI Dr DY Chandrachud as a Distinguished Professor as well.
