Justice Siri Jagan passes away at 74

Former Kerala High Court judge Justice S. Siri Jagan passed away on Saturday in Kochi following an illness, at the age of 74.

Justice Siri Jagan was born on January 22, 1952, in Mayyanad, Kollam district. He studied law at the Government Law College, Thiruvananthapuram, and later completed his LLM from the Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT).

He was appointed as a judge of the Kerala High Court in February 2005 and retired in 2014.

After retirement, he continued to serve in public roles, including as the Acting Vice-Chancellor of the National University of Advanced Legal Studies (NUALS) and as Chairman of the Sabarimala High Power Committee appointed by the Kerala High Court.

He also served as the Chairman of a committee set up on the Supreme Court’s directions to assess compensation for victims of stray dog attacks in Kerala.

Recently, he was appointed as the administrator of Indus Motors Company Pvt Ltd., which is facing allegations of large-scale oppression and mismanagement. A related case is currently pending before the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT), Kochi.

His cremation will be held later today at Ravipuram, Kochi.
