Judge Vishwanath V Mugathi, serving as the Third Additional Senior Civil Judge at Kalaburagi, passed away on Monday following a heart attack. He was 43.

Judge Vishwanath had reported for duty in the morning but suffered a cardiac arrest before reaching the courtroom. He reportedly passed away en route to the hospital.

Having joined the judicial service in 2014, he had served in various districts including Shivamogga, Hubballi, Gangavathi, Channagiri, and Banahatti in Bagalkot before his recent posting to Kalaburagi.

He is survived by his wife and daughter.
