Born on May 6, 1962, Justice S.V.N. Bhatti is a graduate in Commerce and Law.

He enrolled with the Bar Council of Andhra Pradesh on January 21, 1987, and began his legal career practicing in the Trial Court at Madanapalle, Andhra Pradesh, before moving to the High Court of Andhra Pradesh at Hyderabad.

He served as Standing Counsel for several Public Sector Undertakings and Statutory Bodies and held the position of Special Government Pleader in the Office of the Advocate General at the High Court from 2000 to 2003. Over the years, he developed a robust practice on both the Original and Appellate sides of the Andhra Pradesh High Court.

Justice Bhatti was elevated as a Judge of the High Court of Andhra Pradesh on April 12, 2013. Following the bifurcation, he continued to serve at the High Court for the States of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana in Hyderabad. After the establishment of the High Court of Andhra Pradesh at Amaravati, he was transferred there and served until March 18, 2019.

He was then transferred to the High Court of Kerala at Ernakulam, where he assumed office on March 19, 2019. He served as Acting Chief Justice from April 24, 2023, and was appointed Chief Justice of the Kerala High Court on June 1, 2023.

Justice Bhatti was elevated to the Supreme Court of India on July 14, 2023.
