Justice Abhay S. Oka, who was scheduled to hold court for the last time on 23rd May 2025 before his retirement, could not attend due to a personal bereavement.

His mother, Smt. Vasanti Oka, passed away last night in Thane. Justice Oka has rushed to Thane to perform the last rites.

Justice Oka is set to retire on 23rd May 2025, marking the end of an illustrious judicial career. He served as a Judge of the Supreme Court for nearly four years, having been elevated to the apex court on 21st August 2021.

Prior to his tenure at the Supreme Court, Justice Oka served as the Chief Justice of the Karnataka High Court for two years, following his appointment on 10th May 2019.
