Amid a nationwide push for fuel conservation and environmental protection, members of the judiciary are now setting examples through their own lifestyle choices.
After Narendra Modi appealed to citizens to save fuel and adopt sustainable alternatives, judges of the Rajasthan High Court have begun embracing simplicity and eco-conscious practices.
A day after Acting Chief Justice Sanjeev Prakash Sharma reportedly gave up the use of his escort vehicle, High Court judge Sameer Jain arrived at court on Friday riding a bicycle instead of using a luxury government vehicle.
According to reports, Justice Sameer Jain has been cycling to the High Court regularly for the past several days from his official residence in Gandhinagar. Security personnel accompanied him during the journey.
His move has drawn attention within the High Court premises, with advocates, judicial officers, and court staff praising the initiative as a positive and inspiring step toward fuel conservation, fitness, and environmental awareness.
Justice Jain’s decision is being viewed as a message promoting a healthy lifestyle, reduction in fuel consumption, and environmental responsibility at a time when concerns over climate change and energy use continue to grow.
The initiative also reflects the growing impact of the Prime Minister’s recent appeal encouraging citizens and institutions to adopt sustainable practices and reduce dependence on fuel-based transport.
