SC Collegium Recommends Advocate M. Balaji for Elevation as Andhra Pradesh High Court Judge

The Supreme Court Collegium on Thursday recommended the elevation of advocate M. Balaji as a judge of the Andhra Pradesh High Court.

In a statement, the Collegium said that during its meeting held on January 28, 2026, it approved the proposal for the appointment of Shri Balaji Medamalli, also known as M. Balaji, as a judge of the High Court of Andhra Pradesh.

At present, the Andhra Pradesh High Court has 32 judges functioning against a sanctioned strength of 37. Once the appointment is cleared, the working strength of the court will increase to 33 judges
