The Supreme Court Advocates-on-Record Association has formally requested the Chief Justice of India to include the hearing sequence in the supplementary causelist a day in advance, rather than displaying it digitally on the day of the hearing.
The Association has also expressed concern over certain benches denying passover requests in the first round, describing it as "a matter of great concern" that is causing significant difficulty for members of the Bar.
The SCAORA stated that the current practice of issuing the sequence order only after 10:30 am is creating significant challenges for all Advocates-on-Record (AORs), Non-AORs, Senior and Junior advocates, as well as their clerks. It emphasized that elderly members of the Bar and those less familiar with technology are particularly affected, often struggling to attend hearings for their cases.
"Therefore, knowing the order in which matters will be taken a day in advance would greatly assist advocates in planning their day and managing their time effectively," the Association requested CJI Sanjiv Khanna.
