Second National Lok Adalat of 2025 Scheduled for May 10 Across 28 States and UTs

The second National Lok Adalat of the year will be held on May 10, 2025, across 28 states and union territories (UTs) under the supervision of the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA).

In regions where courts are closed for summer vacations, the Lok Adalat has been rescheduled to later dates:

  • June 14: Assam, Kerala, Puducherry, Tamil Nadu, Telangana

  • June 21: Andaman and Nicobar Islands

  • July 5: Andhra Pradesh

  • July 12: Gujarat, Karnataka

The Adalat will facilitate the resolution of a diverse range of disputes, both at the pre-litigation and pending litigation stages. Matters to be taken up include:

  • Compoundable criminal cases

  • Traffic challans

  • Plea bargaining cases

  • Revenue disputes

  • Bank recovery matters

  • Motor accident compensation claims

  • Cheque bounce cases

  • Labour-related disputes

  • Matrimonial issues (excluding divorce)

  • Land acquisition disputes

  • Intellectual property rights (IPR) cases

  • Consumer grievances

  • Other civil matters

This initiative is part of NALSA’s ongoing efforts to promote speedy and amicable dispute resolution through alternative mechanisms.
