Today, the six judges were sworn into the Delhi High Court, raising the court's working strength to 40 against the sanctioned capacity of 60.
Chief Justice DK Upadhyaya administered the oath of office to the judges, all of whom were recently transferred to Delhi from other High Courts following recommendations by the Supreme Court Collegium in May, which were approved by the Central Government last week.
Justice V. Kameswar Rao Returns to Delhi High Court
Justice V Kameswar Rao, originally a Delhi High Court judge, returned after a short period at the Karnataka High Court.
First elevated as an additional judge of the Delhi High Court in April 2013 and made permanent in March 2015, Justice Rao has now been repatriated to his parent High Court.

Began his legal career in Kurukshetra before moving to the High Court in Chandigarh. Designated as a Senior Advocate in 2014, he was elevated to the bench in July 2017. -

With a strong academic background, Justice Monga practiced in Delhi for two decades before being appointed as a judge in 2018. He was transferred to the Rajasthan High Court in 2023. -
Justice Om Prakash Shukla: from Allahabad High Court)
A law graduate from Lucknow University, Justice Shukla practiced widely across various courts and domains. He was appointed as a judge in 2022 and made permanent in 2024. -
Justice Vivek Chaudhary: from Allahabad High Court
Enrolled in 1988, Justice Chaudhary was elevated to the bench in 2017 and became a permanent judge the following year. He specialized in civil and constitutional matters. -
Justice Nitin Wasudeo Sambre: from Bombay High Court)
A Nagpur native and former secretary of the High Court Bar Association, Justice Sambre began his legal career with former CJI Sharad A. Bobde. He became a judge in 2014.
