The Supreme Court of India has officially notified that there will be partial court working days from June 1, 2026 to July 12, 2026. Regular court functioning will resume from July 13, 2026. The notification has been issued under Rule 4 of Order II of the Supreme Court Rules, 2013.
According to the notification, different vacation benches have been constituted for each week during the partial working period. Several senior judges, including Chief Justice of India Justice Surya Kant, Justice Vikram Nath, Justice K.V. Viswanathan, Justice B.V. Nagarathna, Justice Sandeep Mehta and others will hear urgent matters during this period.

The notification further states that the Supreme Court Registry will remain open from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM for officers and staff members during the partial court working days, except on Saturdays, Sundays and notified holidays.
