The Supreme Court Collegium in its meeting held on 4 May 2026 has approved the appointment of seven advocates as judges of the Punjab and Haryana High Court, marking a significant step toward strengthening the court’s judicial capacity.
According to the official statement, the following advocates have been recommended for elevation to the Bench:

Shri Harmeet Singh Deol
Ms. Puja Chopra
Shri Sunish Bindlish
Shri Navdeep Singh
Ms. Divya Sharma
Shri Ravinder Malik
The move comes amid ongoing efforts to address judicial vacancies and ensure timely disposal of cases in one of the country’s busiest High Courts.
With these appointments, the Collegium continues its push to enhance judicial efficiency and maintain the balance of experience and diversity on the Bench. The recommendations will now be forwarded to the Central Government for final approval and notification.
The Collegium system, led by the Chief Justice of India along with senior-most judges of the Supreme Court, plays a crucial role in recommending appointments and transfers of judges to the higher judiciary.
