The Supreme Court Collegium has recommended the transfer of two judges of the Orissa High Court as part of its latest exercise to facilitate the administration of justice across High Courts.
The Collegium, in its meeting held on August 6, 2026, recommended the transfer of the following judges:
Justice Manash Ranjan Pathak — presently serving in the Orissa High Court, has been recommended for transfer to the Gujarat High Court. Justice Pathak has the parent High Court of Gauhati High Court.
Justice Krushna Ram Mohapatra — presently serving in the Orissa High Court, has been recommended for transfer to the Chhattisgarh High Court.
The recommendations have been made by the Supreme Court Collegium, which comprises the Chief Justice of India and other senior-most judges of the Supreme Court.
The transfer recommendations will take effect upon completion of the prescribed process and issuance of the necessary notification.
The move comes amid the Collegium's continuing exercise of recommending transfers of High Court judges in the interest of better administration of justice and judicial functioning.
