Young Delhi Judge Found Dead in Suspected Suicide at South Delhi Residence

In a tragic incident, a 30-year-old judicial officer, Aman Kumar Sharma, was found dead at his residence in South Delhi’s Safdarjung area on Saturday, officials confirmed.

According to police sources, Sharma was discovered hanging from a ceiling fan at his home. The incident came to light after his brother-in-law alerted the authorities. The body has been sent for post-mortem examination to ascertain the exact cause of death.

While preliminary observations suggest suicide, officials have stated that all possible angles are being thoroughly investigated. No suicide note has been reported so far.

Aman Kumar Sharma had joined the Delhi Judicial Services on June 19, 2021. A law graduate from Symbiosis Law School, Pune, he completed his BA LL.B. in 2018. During his tenure, he served in multiple capacities, handling both criminal and civil matters across different jurisdictions as a Judicial Magistrate First Class and Civil Judge.

In October 2025, Sharma was appointed as the full-time Secretary of the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) in the North-East district at Karkardooma Courts, a role involving legal aid and access to justice initiatives.

The untimely death of the young judicial officer has sent shockwaves through the legal fraternity. Colleagues and members of the bar have expressed deep sorrow, remembering him as a dedicated and sincere officer.
