Arvind Kejriwal Set to Appear Before Delhi Court in ‘Phansi Ghar’ Case

Former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is scheduled to appear before the Delhi Legislative Assembly Privileges Committee on Friday in connection with the ‘Phansi Ghar’ case, after recently being acquitted by a Delhi court in the excise policy case.

In a letter addressed to the committee, Kejriwal confirmed that he will appear at 3 pm on March 6.

The Assembly’s Privileges Committee has issued notices in the matter to Kejriwal, former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, former Assembly Speaker Ram Niwas Goel, and former Deputy Speaker Rakhi Birla.

In his letter, Kejriwal said that despite several pressing civic issues in the capital—such as rising pollution, deteriorating road conditions, garbage accumulation, and shortages of medicines in hospitals—the Assembly has summoned him to respond to questions regarding the ‘Phansi Ghar’ issue.

He added that he has informed the Privileges Committee that he will appear before it in compliance with the summons. Kejriwal also requested that the proceedings be telecast live in the interest of transparency.
