Delhi Court Extends Judicial Custody of 26/11 Accused Tahawwur Rana Till August 13

A Delhi court on Wednesday extended the judicial custody of Tahawwur Hussain Rana, an accused in the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks, until August 13.

Special Judge Chander Jit Singh passed the order after Rana was produced before the court via video conferencing upon the expiry of his previous custody.

Rana, a close associate of David Coleman Headley alias Daood Gilani—the key conspirator behind the 2008 attacks—was extradited to India after the U.S. Supreme Court dismissed his review petition challenging the extradition on April 4.

Rana is accused of being involved in the planning and execution of the coordinated terror strikes carried out by 10 Pakistani terrorists in Mumbai on November 26, 2008. The attacks, which targeted a railway station, two luxury hotels, and a Jewish centre, resulted in the deaths of 166 people and lasted nearly 60 hours.
