Jharkhand HC Delays Ex-Chief Minister Hemant Soren's Hearing Against ED Until February 27

The Jharkhand High Court adjourned the hearing on Monday regarding a petition filed by former chief minister Hemant Soren against the Enforcement Directorate (ED) until February 27.

The court will again hear the plea on that day.

On February 5, the Jharkhand High Court directed the Enforcement Directorate (ED) to submit its response to Hemant Soren's petition. Additionally, the court requested the federal agency file a consolidated affidavit. Hemant Soren was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate on January 31 in connection with a money laundering case related to an alleged land fraud.

Subsequently, on February 2, a special PMLA (Prevention of Money Laundering Act) court in Ranchi granted the ED custody of the JMM leader for five days. Later, on February 7, the court extended the ED's remand of the former chief minister by an additional five days.
