Pizza Justice: FIR quashed, Delhi High Court Orders Neighbours to Serve Pizza & Buttermilk at Childcare Home

The Delhi High Court has quashed cross-FIRs lodged by warring neighbours after directing them to serve pizzas and buttermilk to children and staff at a government-run childcare institution.

Justice Arun Monga, while hearing petitions in Arvind Kumar and Others v. State and Another, ordered that mixed-vegetable pizzas and Amul Chaach tetra packs be distributed at Sanskar Ashram near GTB Hospital as part of a community service.

“Each inmate and the attendants and other staff of the Ashram shall be served one Pizza along with Amul Chaach Tetra Pack. The Pizzas shall be baked by the complainant in FIR No.220/2025 … and the same shall be treated as community service to be jointly carried out by all the complainants and the accused,” the Court directed.

The case arose from a neighbourhood quarrel over pet handling which escalated into allegations of assault, intimidation, and misbehaviour. However, both sides later settled the matter amicably.

Taking note of the settlement and the private nature of the dispute, the Court held that continuing criminal proceedings would serve no useful purpose. During the hearing, it also came to light that one of the complainants runs a pizza business, prompting the Court to impose the unique condition.

The investigating officer was asked to ensure compliance with the order.

Advocates Naveen Kumar Thakur, Satendar, Ram Kumar, Uttam Kumar and Sonu Kumar represented petitioners Arvind Kumar and others, while petitioners Pratham Vishnoi and others were represented by advocates Deepak Kumar and Satendar Chauhan. The State was represented by ASC (Criminal) Rahul Tyagi, assisted by Sangeet Sibou, Priyansh Raj Singh Senger and Aniket Kumar Singh.
