The Consortium of National Law Universities (CNLU) is expected to release the revised results of the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2025 soon, in compliance with a directive issued by the Delhi High Court on April 23.
The court had instructed that a corrected merit list be published within four weeks after identifying discrepancies in four undergraduate questions — numbers 5, 77, 115, and 116.
Once the revised results are out, candidates can access them by visiting the official website at consortiumofnlus.ac.in/clat-2025, using their application number/admit card number and date of birth.
The updated merit list will facilitate the start of the online counselling process for admissions to undergraduate (LLB) and postgraduate (LLM) law programmes at participating National Law Universities (NLUs).
Meanwhile, the Supreme Court has dismissed appeals challenging the Delhi High Court’s decision not to entertain objections related to questions 81, 93, and 97. In doing so, the apex court strongly criticised the Consortium’s "casual approach" in setting the CLAT 2025 paper.
A bench comprising Justices BR Gavai and Augustine George Masih expressed concern over repeated errors and suggested the appointment of dedicated paper setters to ensure better quality control.
Additionally, the Supreme Court has issued a notice to the Ministry of Education, seeking its views on measures to streamline the examination process going forward.
CLAT 2025 was held on December 1, 2024, with initial results released on December 7. The exam serves as the primary entrance test for admission to LLB and LLM courses at NLUs and several other top law institutions across India.
