The Supreme Court on Monday launched the ‘One Case One Data’ initiative, a digital case management system aimed at integrating judicial data across all levels of the judiciary — from the Supreme Court to High Courts, district courts, and even taluka courts.
Chief Justice of India Surya Kant made the announcement during a hearing alongside Justice Joymalya Bagchi before the commencement of the day’s proceedings.
Explaining the initiative, the CJI said the project is designed to strengthen the Supreme Court’s case management system through multi-level integration with databases of High Courts, district courts, and government departments.
“For the first time, the entire judicial data system will be integrated. While sitting in the Supreme Court, we will be able to access complete details of cases pending right up to district and taluka courts. Similarly, taluka courts will also have connectivity with the Supreme Court,” the CJI said.
The new module will automate retrieval of case information from different court databases and enable quick online verification of records across judicial forums. High Courts and government departments will also receive reciprocal access to case-related information whenever required.
According to the CJI, the initiative is expected to improve data integrity, ensure greater accuracy, and enhance transparency within the judicial system.
The apex court also introduced ‘Su-Sahayak’, an AI-powered assistive chatbot developed by the National Informatics Centre in collaboration with the Supreme Court Registry. The chatbot, which will be available on the official Supreme Court website, is intended to help litigants and lawyers access case-related information and navigate court services more efficiently.
Chief Justice Kant credited the Supreme Court Registry and members of the Bar for their contribution to both projects and expressed confidence that the initiatives would benefit all stakeholders in the justice delivery system.
