Senior Advocate Dushyant Dave Bids Farewell to Legal Profession After 48 Years of Practice

Senior Advocate Dushyant Dave, known for his unwavering voice and fearless critique of the judiciary, has formally stepped away from the legal profession after nearly five decades of distinguished practice.

“After having spent 48 glorious years at the Bar and having just celebrated my 70th birthday, I have decided to quit the profession of law,” Dave announced, adding, “I leave this great profession and this much important Administration of Justice, with a sense of pride.”

Dave, born on October 27, 1954, began his legal journey in Gujarat in 1978 before moving to Delhi in the mid-1980s. His sharp legal acumen and commitment to constitutional values saw him rise as one of the most respected names in the Supreme Court, earning the designation of Senior Advocate in 1998. He also served as the president of the Supreme Court Bar Association.

In his farewell, Dave extended heartfelt gratitude to the Bar, the Bench, and his clients for their trust and affection over the years.

Looking ahead, he said he now plans to dedicate his time to social causes and his long-standing passions — reading, travelling, and being with family.
