Today, three seasoned advocates—Deepak Khot, Amit Seth, and Pavan Dwivedi—were sworn in as judges of the Madhya Pradesh High Court.
The oath of office was administered by Acting Chief Justice Sanjeev Sachdeva.
Their appointments were part of a broader notification issued by the Central Government earlier in the week, which included the elevation of seven advocates as judges across various High Courts in the country.
Born on March 3, 1975, in Gwalior, Justice Khot enrolled as an advocate in 2000. Over the years, he built a diverse practice spanning the Supreme Court, Madhya Pradesh High Court, District Courts, and Consumer Forums. He has represented prominent political figures and reputed educational institutions. Justice Khot also served as the Chief Legal Adviser and Chief Standing Counsel for several civic bodies, including the Municipal Corporation of Gwalior, Gwalior Development Authority, and Gwalior Smart City Development Corporation. He was appointed as Government Advocate for the High Court’s Gwalior Bench in two terms—2010–2011 and 2020 till his elevation.
Justice Seth was born on March 15, 1975, in Jabalpur. He began his legal career under the mentorship of Senior Advocate Shri Sanjay Agarwal. His practice covered a wide range of forums including the Madhya Pradesh High Court, Central Administrative Tribunal, National Green Tribunal, and Arbitration Tribunals. Among his prominent clients were MP Power Transmission Company, MP State Mining Corporation, and several universities and public sector bodies. In December 2024, he was designated a Senior Advocate. He has also served the state as Deputy Advocate General and later as Additional Advocate General.
Justice Dwivedi’s legal career encompassed diverse areas such as indirect taxation, constitutional law, service matters, income tax, civil and criminal litigation, election law, arbitration, corporate and industrial law, and panchayat disputes. He has represented various notable institutions, including the Madhya Pradesh Trade and Investment Facilitation Corporation Limited, Municipal Council Guna, and Municipal Corporation Gwalior. He was also appointed amicus curiae in several matters of public importance, addressing issues like food adulteration, sanitation in Gwalior, and ATM security.
