Three judicial officers were sworn in as Additional Judges of the Karnataka High Court on Monday, June 1, in a ceremony held at the High Court premises.
Chief Justice Vibhu Bakhru administered the oath of office to the newly appointed judges. Their appointments were notified by the Central Government on May 29, following recommendations made by the Supreme Court Collegium in April.

Following the swearing-in ceremony, Karnataka State Bar Council Chairman Advocate Venkaraddi Devaraddi Kamaraddi delivered the welcome address. The three newly appointed judges also addressed the gathering.
The event was attended by judges from all three benches of the Karnataka High Court, Additional Solicitor General Arvind Kamath, Advocate General Sasikiran S. Shetty, senior advocate Shanthi Bhushan, the State Law Secretary, and other members of the legal fraternity.
The Supreme Court Collegium had recommended the elevation of the three judicial officers on April 14.
With these appointments, the working strength of the Karnataka High Court has increased to 44 judges against its sanctioned strength of 47.
