The Delhi High Court on Friday issued notices to Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) leaders Saurav Das, Abhijeet Dipke, Ashutosh Ranka and Ratna Singh over a woman's complaint that her photo was allegedly morphed and circulated without her permission during the CJP's protest at Jantar Mantar.

The Court also directed Meta to remove all objectionable photos and links related to the woman from its platforms within 24 hours. It further ordered Delhi Police to provide her protection and asked the police to file a status report within two weeks.

Justice Girish Kathpalia said the matter was serious as the alleged morphed image also involved Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The Delhi Police had registered an FIR against unknown persons a day before the hearing. However, the FIR did not name the four CJP leaders as accused.

According to the woman's complaint, her photograph was allegedly manipulated using artificial intelligence and face-swapping technology to show her with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. She alleged that the image was displayed on banners and posters during the Jantar Mantar protest and was later circulated on social media, including Instagram.

The woman also alleged that objectionable slogans were raised and that a video containing the morphed image was circulated online.

The CJP-led protest at Jantar Mantar began on June 20 and continued for more than a month. The protest was called off on July 25.

The High Court has now sought responses from the four CJP leaders and Delhi Police in the matter.
