SC refused to hear a petition to remove "wrong facts" about the Taj Mahal from history books

On December 5, the Supreme Court's division bench of Justices MR Shah and CT Ravikumar refused to hear a petition asking the ASI to determine the "correct age" of the Taj Mahal and to remove "wrong facts" about the monument from history books. The bench also inquired as to how the court would determine whether the historical facts were correct or incorrect. The petitioner then attempted to withdraw it. As a result, the petition was withdrawn with the right to file a representation before the ASI.

Two months ago, the Supreme Court refused to hear a similar PIL seeking to discover the "true history" of the Taj Mahal and to open the monument's closed chambers.
