The Central Government on Friday notified the appointment of 30 Advocates and Judicial Officers as Judges and Additional Judges to the High Courts of Madras, Calcutta, Karnataka and Madhya Pradesh.
Union Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal announced the appointments, stating that they were made by the President in exercise of the powers conferred by the Constitution of India and in consultation with the Chief Justice of India.
The Centre has notified the appointment of five Advocates as Judges of the Madras High Court:
Govindrajan Krishnaswamy, Advocate
Rajnish Pathiyil, Advocate
Ramesh Natarajan, Advocate
G.K. Muthukumar, Advocate
Ramkrishna Rajesh Vivekananthan, Advocate
In addition, 10 persons have been appointed as Additional Judges of the Madras High Court, comprising three Advocates and seven Judicial Officers:

Dilip Kumar Nagarajan, Advocate
Ellapan Manoharan, Advocate
Dr. P. Murugan, Judicial Officer
M.D. Sumathi, Judicial Officer

The Centre has notified the appointment of eight Advocates as Judges of the Calcutta High Court:

Shanthi Bhushan Hombe Gowda, Advocate
The Centre has also notified the appointment of Amit Lahoti, Advocate, as a Judge of the Madhya Pradesh High Court.
The appointments cover both permanent Judges and Additional Judges, further strengthening the judicial strength of the four High Courts.
