Centre Appoints Six Advocates as Additional Judges of Karnataka HC

The Central government on Friday notified the appointment of six advocates as additional judges of the Karnataka High Court.

Union Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal announced the appointments through a post on X.

The six advocates elevated as additional judges are:

  • Raghavendra Seetharam Srivatsa
  • Hema Kulkarni
  • Subramanya Rangarao
  • Vivekananda Thadagavadi Prakash
  • Pramod Bakkeswara
  • Shanthi Bhushan Hombe Gowda

The appointments were made following the recommendation of the Supreme Court Collegium dated June 2.

With the latest appointments, the working strength of the Karnataka High Court will increase to 54 judges against a sanctioned strength of 62. Eight posts will therefore remain vacant.
